Will I be on a maintenance dose?

Once you’ve reached your target weight, you may move onto a maintenance dose to help keep the weight off. A maintenance dose means staying on a steady amount of medication, rather than continuing to increase or reduce it.

At Numan, your maintenance dose will be carefully tailored by your prescribing clinician based on how your body has responded to treatment, how well your weight has stabilised, and whether you’ve experienced any side effects. The goal is to help you maintain your progress using the lowest effective dose that works for you. The clinical team will continue to monitor your progress and adjust the dose if needed, so that you’re supported every step of the way.

Treatment typically begins with an initial 2.5mg dose in the first month, automatically increasing to 5mg in the second month, which is generally maintained as the maintenance dose. However, patients can consult with our clinical team to adjust their dosage to ensure the best treatment results.

Each patient's response to Mounjaro may differ, so our clinicians are dedicated to finding the dosage that works best for you.

If you want to increase the dose further, you will need to request a dose change using our dose change questionnaire. We increase the dose by 2.5mg every 4 weeks until you reach your next maintenance dose
