When will oral GLP-1s be available in the UK?
We do not have a confirmed date yet. The oral medications we are preparing to offer are currently under review with the MHRA (the UK medicines regulator). Every medication sold in the UK must pass this rigorous safety process before it can be prescribed.
Will Numan offer it as soon as it is approved?
Yes, that is our plan. We are preparing our clinical pathways and patient support in the background so we can offer it as soon as it is licensed, supply is available, and we are confident we can prescribe it safely.
How will I know when it is available?
There is no need to do anything right now. We will email our customers as soon as we can safely offer it, and it will appear as an option in your Numan account.
Will it be part of the commitment packages?
Yes. Oral GLP-1s will have their own commitment packages, which will be designed around how the medication is taken and supplied. We will confirm exact pricing and package details closer to the launch date.
Who will be eligible for oral GLP-1s?
Eligibility criteria will be confirmed once the MHRA licence is finalised. However, we expect the BMI requirements and general medical eligibility to align closely with current UK guidance for weight-management medications. Your clinical review at Numan will always check your individual suitability before anything is prescribed.
Can I take it if I am on other medications?
Oral GLP-1s can interact with other medicines, as they slow down stomach emptying. Always tell us about every medication, supplement, or over-the-counter product you take. Your Numan prescriber will conduct a full review of your medical history before prescribing to ensure it is safe for you.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
No. GLP-1 medications whether oral or injectable are not recommended during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or if you are actively trying to conceive.
How will the Numan experience change?
The core experience will stay the same. A structured online clinical questionnaire, a review by a UK-registered prescriber, and ongoing support from our clinical and coaching team. The main practical difference is that oral GLP-1s are taken daily as a tablet, rather than as a weekly injection, and will be stored at room temperature. Because administration rules can vary depending on the specific tablet, your prescriber will give you clear, step-by-step instructions on how to take your medication (including guidance on food, drink, and missed doses) at the point of prescription.
