When will oral GLP-1s (Wegovy pill) be available in the UK?

The Wegovy Pill is available for eligible patients following clinical assessment. Physical dispatches are actively running from our pharmacy.

Timelines for each dose strength are as follows:

  • 1.5mg & 4.0mg: Live and shipping now.

  • 9.0mg: Pre-orders officially open this Thursday (9th July), with the first deliveries shipping out on Monday (13th July).

  • 25.0mg: Expected to go live later this month.

How do I request my treatment?

Complete our online clinical questionnaire, and a UK-registered prescriber will review your suitability. If approved, your order will be prepared by our pharmacy for dispensing.

Note for certain orders: If our clinical team requires any additional up-to-date evidence (such as a weight verification photo or an off-label clinical consent form), an action link will appear in your account and via email. Please complete this promptly so our pharmacy can safely dispatch your order.

When will I receive my order?

Once your prescription is approved by our clinical team, your order is dispatched via our standard delivery lines. You will receive a tracking link via email as soon as it leaves our pharmacy, and you can monitor its progress directly inside your Numan account.

Will it be part of the commitment packages?

Yes. The Wegovy pill has its own dedicated commitment packages to support you through your long-term weight-loss journey.

How does the Wegovy pill differ from the injections?

The Wegovy pill contains semaglutide, the same active ingredient as the Wegovy injection.

The main differences are practical:

  • It is taken as a tablet once daily rather than a weekly injection.

  • There are no needles involved.

  • It is stored at room temperature rather than in the fridge.

Because it is an oral tablet, it comes with specific administration instructions (such as taking it on an empty stomach with a small sip of water) to ensure the medication is properly absorbed by your body. Your prescriber will outline these clearly during your consultation. The known side effect profile is similar to the injectable formulation. Your prescriber will discuss this with you.

How effective is the Wegovy pill?

You can see clinical trial data and see how the Wegovy pill compares directly to the Wegovy injection and Mounjaro injection here ➡️ https://www.numan.com/weight-loss/wegovy-pill

Can I take it if I am on other medications?

Oral GLP-1s can interact with other medicines, as they naturally slow down how quickly your stomach empties. It is incredibly important that you tell us about every medication, supplement, or over-the-counter product you take. Our medical team will conduct a thorough safety review of your history before issuing your prescription.

How do I store it?

Storage is very simple compared to injectables. The tablets should be kept at normal room temperature—no refrigeration is required. Full product-specific storage guidelines are printed on your packaging.

Is it safe during pregnancy?

No. GLP-1 medications—whether oral tablets or weekly injections—are strictly not recommended during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or if you are actively trying to conceive.

Why is my Wegovy 25mg pill shaped differently?

Don't worry, this is expected. The 25mg Wegovy tablet looks different from the lower doses: it's oval-shaped (6.8mm x 12mm) and white to light yellow in colour.

The lower doses (1.5mg, 4mg and 9mg) are smaller, round tablets, so the larger oval shape is unique to the 25mg maintenance dose. If your pill matches this description, you've received the correct medication.

If your tablet doesn't match this description, or you have any other concerns about your medication, let us know and we'll check it with the clinical team.

I'm an existing Numan patient, can I switch to the Wegovy pill?

Yes, if it's clinically appropriate for you. Switching isn't automatic, though: our clinical team needs to review the change first.

To request it, fill in our medication change form. You'll be asked for your current medication and dose, and the starting dose you'd like for the Wegovy pill.

What happens next

A clinician reviews your request within 3 working days. We'll email you with updates, and get in touch if we need anything else from you.
