When your hands are clean and dry, double-check that all your equipment is within its expiration date and that nothing looks damaged or out of the ordinary, such as discolouration or particles in any substance. If everything looks good, you can prepare the vial for injection.

Proper Injection Techniques

When using Testosterone Cypionate, it’s essential to follow proper injection practices to ensure both your safety and the effectiveness of your treatment. Always use a different injection site with each dose to minimise the risk of irritation or complications.

Disposal of Needles

After administering your dose, make sure to dispose of the used needles in the provided sharps bin to maintain a safe and clean environment.

Safe Needle Usage

Never use a needle that has been dropped, damaged, contaminated, or previously used. Ensuring your injection equipment is sterile and in good condition is crucial for your safety.

Storage of medication

It’s important to store the remaining mixed solution in the fridge once done, so it’s ready for your next dose. We recommend placing the Zivafert in a separate container so that it doesn’t accidentally get mixed up with other things in the fridge.

While Zivafert is generally well-tolerated, be aware of serious side effects such as the risk of blood clots. Symptoms of blood clots may include sudden leg pain or swelling, unexplained shortness of breath, chest pain, or a rapid heartbeat. If you notice any of these symptoms, stop taking Zivafert immediately and seek urgent medical attention. Report any concerning symptoms to your clinician to ensure your safety during treatment.

What follow-up is needed to continue taking treatment safely?

Regular monitoring is essential for maintaining the safety and effectiveness of your treatment. It’s crucial to attend all follow-up blood tests at 1, 4, 7, and 12 months to track your biomarkers and ensure your levels remain within a safe range. These tests are included in the programme cost and can be easily booked online. Additionally, you should complete the symptom (AMS) questionnaire at these same intervals to help us monitor your progress.

It’s important to remember that treatment may take between 3 and 6 months to show its full effects. During this period, your doctor may monitor your testosterone levels and adjust the dosage as necessary.
