Why are two tests needed?

Updated yesterday

Testosterone levels can fluctuate, meaning results may vary between tests. For this reason, two separate blood tests are required to make a clinical diagnosis, in line with BSSM guidelines. Tests must be completed at least two weeks apart and dated within the past six months.

Timing is important, as testosterone levels are highest in the morning and gradually decline throughout the day. In addition, lifestyle factors such as stress, inactivity, alcohol intake, nutritional deficiencies, and poor sleep can also affect results.

Ultimately, repeat testing helps eliminate any anomalies and ensure an accurate diagnosis.
